Default Driving Experiences

News here ! My daughter, Jaimie, got her Learner's Permit ! YAY - she's doing great ! However, she was in her first accident yesterday with a GF...She is fine! She was not driving, nor was it our car - but I have to say, that one one of the worst phone calls I have ever received !

Tell me about your first driving experiences, first cars, first accident....

I had an accident once in HS ( I was drinking). I side swiped a car and lost my rear view mirror in the process. IN the morning, my dad came into the bedroom all freaked out when he saw the car. He smelled the alcohol fumes from the night before. He was PISSED!!! I told him I hit a stop sign. he made me go with him to the scene, only to get caught in my lie - there was no way I could have ht a stop sign - only cars! He made me walk up and down the street until I found he owner of the car I hit. It was horrible !!!

My first accident really wasn't that bad. When I was 17 I had a minor fender-bender in a parking lot after taking the SAT's. Everyone was leaving after the test, and someone was letting me pull out in front of them when the cars in front of them stopped, so I was part of the way in the other lane. Someone started to come down that lane, so I backed up a little to let them through and tapped another car. The lady I hit got all uppity about it and called the police to come look at it. The funniest part was when the cop got there, the lady told him there was a dent in her car, and the cop looked at it for a few seconds and said, "Where?" It only ended up being about $100 to replace some little strip on the front of her car.

Last year, I was about to leave for class one morning and I saw that someone had hit the front of my car and drove off. I didn't really get mad or anything, but I was thinking, "Great... something new for my dad to flip out about..."
